A great place to visit for all ages. Families, groups or on your own. Volunteers are very welcoming. Plenty of things to see and do. Train rides are available. Cafe sells a good range of refreshments in clean, bright comfort at normal prices. We will be going back to visit again.
This is a wonderful attraction, just off the A1 at Alnwick. The signposting by the Highways Agency isn't helpful, go into Lionheart Industrial Estate and your reach the railway's own signs. The volunteers who run the railway are welcoming and friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. It's free to park, free to get in and the tearoom prices are extremely reasonable. The displays are interesting and informative. And if you have a railway enthusiast, take advantage of the engine driver experience for only 10. This was our first visit, but it certainly won't be the last - the grandchildren have decided!
Really enjoyed this visit. The staff are super friendly. The train driving experience was worth every penny. Will definitely be going back again.
