Doctors and staff are very friendly and do a great job. Appointment booking system isn't ideal, but I haven't had too many issues getting an appointment when I've needed one. Good service all round.
Before the surgery merged I would definitely have given 5* now the system is clearly not working. The reptionists, doctors and staff must be so frustrated with this ridiculous system! Something really needs to change its not doing anyone any favours and patients are only being treated when it becomes an 'emergency', it's firefighting at its worst!
Make sure your not in a hurry if you ring. After 20 attempt of ringing for a repeat prescription I get through to be placed on hold. After being on hold someone picks up and puts the phone down straight away. CQC needs to open their eyes up to the merged practise
Takes ages to get them to answer the phone. Takes ages to be seen. Appointment takes ages to get bevuz they DONT ANSWER THE PHONE!
I've never seen the same gp twice since they merged practices and absolutely no continuity of care. Before merging they were a fantastic practice! Lately I've seen mostly locums and doctors who have been brought out of retirement regarding ongoing problems with my heart. As for trying to get an appointment, what an absolute shambles. Why a queue system isn't used I will never know. I wish there was an alternative practice in Alnwick.
