A proper pub!. A range of real ales and two real ciders available, along with an enormous collection of malt whiskies. In addition, for those with a continental palate, a selection of Belgian and Trappist beers to tempt the senses. Darts and dominoes played here, there is also a leek club for the amateur horticulturist. A hidden gem.
We walked into this place randomly when staying in Alnwick. Wow. Really friendly atmosphere, fantastic selection of ales and even better people started to turn up with musical instruments. Then half of the pub started having little group jamming sessions. Flutes, bagpipes, violins, chello, banjo, 6 & 12 string guitars. What a fantastic suprise and we really enjoyed them welcoming us to listen.
