At the time of writing, I consider the staff to provide excellent customer service. The facilities are average, although they are appropriate for the amount of service the station receives. Parking is difficult at times due to inconsiderate parking and people leaving their vehicles for extended periods of time.
Alnmouth station does not deserve the excellent service that it currently gets. It is a small two-platformed station with a small ticket hall and very limited parking. It gets lots of trains to London which makes no sense as I have never seen anyone board or exit the train here. Even the Northern local services are often scarce of passengers here.
Limited parking and no regular stopping service at all the towns to Newcastle. This station has a lot more potential for the local area.
A reasonable station with a staffed ticket booth. A coffee cart and vending machine are available for refeshments. Information about local bus services is also available.
I often use this station and have always been satisfied with the service but today I want to give it 5 stars for customer service! This morning, on a day trip to York with my grand-daughter, I arrived at the station only to find that I had left my handbag at home, containing my tickets, money and phone! The regular station attendant kindly agreed to phone my husband, firstly on the landline, then, with no answer there, on the mobile. My husband arrived at the station with my handbag just as my train was about to leave the station. We caught the train by the skin of our teeth and had a wonderful day in York, thanks to the willingness of the station attendant to make the phone call on my behalf. So full marks to Alnmouth Station for customer service! :-)
