Awful basically. We had him re-roof our house about 12 years ago in slate.. From ground level an amateur can tell it's been badly done. The slate spacing is all over the place, they mixed new and old slates, the slates rattle when it's windy, lead flashing has slipped out of place. Experts have also pointed out that the slates aren't properly nailed down,and that lead soakers where the roof meets the chimney have been missed out. Since the re-roofing we have had to get them back to fix down slates at the top of the roof properly, we have had another company replace one lead gulley which had holes in it from getting slates dropped on it, and have a lead soaker installed round a chimmney where there was a sand and cement fillet that broke down and leaked. Slates are coming loose all over the roof and we are worried a big gale will take the whole lot off. Don't use them.
